Abstract

Students are juggling all sorts of stress these days. There are classes to attend, friends to hang out with, endless hours spent on their phones, money issues, and life after graduation. It is no wonder why stress and burnout are becoming so prevalent for college students. While many blame digital media for contributing to these issues, there is some good news for those who enjoy digital creativity. According to a new study, digital art, video editing, music production, or coding can actually do wonders for a student's mental health. These activities allow students to relax, vent out their emotions, and feel better overall.

The research aimed to determine whether digital creativity really can make a big difference for college students. To do so, the researchers gathered surveys and interviews from students in different majors. They asked questions about how stressed out these students were, how often they used digital creativity as a stress reliever, and how their emotional health was faring. The research took place for four weeks and compared students who used digital creativity to those who simply used digital media for entertainment purposes.

What did the research find out? It turns out that digital creativity really can make a big difference for college students. Students who used digital creativity felt less stressed out. These students were able to deal better with their emotions and were more focused. Digital creativity improved their self-confidence as well. These activities put these students into a flow state, or a state where you are completely absorbed into what you are doing. This activity increased their independence and positive feelings as well. Digital creativity can really make a big difference for college students.

Colleges really need to integrate digital creativity into their overall stress-reducing activities for their students. Digital creativity is inexpensive, easily accessible, and open to everyone. If colleges really want to make sure their students are successful, then digital creativity is definitely the way to go
